SUMMER TIME!

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa "B" for the swimming pool and toys. Kade loves the water, whether it is the pool or his bath. A big change from the early days when he screamed non-stop during his bath. His swimming attire is courtesy of Colton. (The trunks have chameleons on them!) Sunscreen courtesy of Mommy and Pawpaw. A fella has to be "cool" even here in Arkansas! (The grass was very exciting!)

NOT MUCH TIME TO BLOG!

I don't have much time to blog these days...my sidekick is not so content to sit with me and he doesn't sleep long enough for me to do much. We survived the first two bottom teeth and now we're on to the next ones. This time he isn't sleeping at night either. We're all a little tired. PawPaw is coming for a week so we will have some reinforcement. Kade is crawling, pulling up and into just about everything. As far as child-proofing, unless we put everything in storage I don't know how we can keep him out of it.
Kara has been really sick and will have to have her gallbladder removed as soon as school is out. The doctors say this is common after a baby though I have never heard of it. But then again, I fell just short of my medical degree! I spent a weekend with Kaylyn and family. I had a great time! I tried to hold one of Colton's reptiles, the bearded dragon, but it bit Colton. That was it for me! The snake was more than I could handle. I did look at it which is a major accomplishment. Still haven't started the house. Things move way too slow here! I don't think I'll ever "gear down" that much! Hopefully they will start Tuesday.

FAMILY POEM

Cassidy wrote this poem. It gives you insight as to how she feels about her family. I am very proud as I am sure Mom and Dad are!
################################################
FAMILY POEM
My family is a huge king sized bed
Dad is the mattress who supports us and keeps us going
I am the beautiful fluffy pillows that decorate the family
Colton is the itchy comforter which bugs you constantly so you kick it off the bed
PJ, my little Westie, is the little stuffed animal that sits on the bed and is playful and cute
And Mom is the beautiful bed frame who is strong and loves and supports us throughout everything.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
(Colton...all sisters are bugged by little brothers...just means she loves you! Keep on buggin'!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 5/1/08!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE! I WON'T TELL HOW OLD YOU ARE SINCE I WILL BE AS OLD AS YOU BEFORE I KNOW IT! LOVE YOU!

"I KNEW IT WAS COMIN'" AND MISC. UPDATES

Well, I'd been telling Rowdy that it wouldn't be long until Kade could catch him. (Yes, I talk to the dog!) Today was the day! Kade figured out the crawlin' thing and he went after Rowdy. Kade has his first ear infections...both ears. On top of that, he has a bottom tooth just about to pop thru. I'm ready for a drink!! Or two! He started trying to sing and it is so cute! Hopefully he will have his dad's talent!
Two hams!
How 'bout a kiss?

Thank goodness Rowdy is patient and loves people! Wonder how long it will be before they start sharing toys?! Ugh!

Footnote: We nearly lost Rowdy again. He is now officially the "million dollar dog"! (Not quite.) This time he came down with tick fever. Now explain to me how my little sheltered, well cared for dog gets a tick disease and all these coon dogs, hounds and pit bulls tied to trees don't! He had to be rushed to Little Rock again and received a plasma transfusion. His blood platelet count was ZERO and he was bleeding internally! He couldn't walk or stand...once again knocking at death's door! The prognosis was "very guarded". He was up to 127,000 when he left the hospital on Monday. We're trying to get the platelet count up to 250,000 but the bleeding stopped and he is doing really well...almost 100%. He is quite a little fighter!

House update...hopefully they will start clearing the property next week if the ground is dry enough.

I need to brag on Cassidy just a bit! She was selected out of 60 in her modeling class to go to New York next spring to meet with modeling agencies. I am so glad she got my long legs and beauty! HA! HA! HA! ALSO...she is being inducted into the National Honor Society tonight! I won't even try to claim the brains! We're so proud of her! Congrats!

FAREWELL TO CAMILLE LEON!

As you have read in past posts, Colton is really into reptiles! Over the last several months, he has had to say goodbye to several in his collection. Yesterday he lost his favorite, a chameleon appropriately named "Camille Leon". Unfortunately, by the time you realize a chameleon is ill, it is to late to help. Colton's heart is broken. I was not there, of course, but I understand the farewell was quite emotional for the whole family. Colton's question as to whether Camille would remember him in heaven...yes, Colton. I think she loved you as much as you loved her. I am so sorry that you lost Camille...I know your heart is broken. I wish I was there to give you a big hug! All of us here are thinking of you and Camille! We love you!

(If anyone would like to leave a message for Colton, please leave it in "comments".)
