ALWAYS MY BEST FRIEND

"ROWDY"
1-20-06 / 10-21-08
Rowdy was laid to rest on the hillside near the new house last week. It was the hardest decision I've ever made! I miss him so much. Don't think I could have made it that first six months here without him. He made trips to Texas with me, welcomed Kade when he was born and was always by my side...a very special little dog.

PUMPKIN PATCH 2008

"I'll take this one." "Wait, maybe this one." "No, definitely this one!" "Load 'em up and lets go!" Hayride!
Kade had a blast at the pumpkin patch! We got so many cute pictures!

ZOO IN JULY

These pix are from a trip to the LR zoo in July but they were so cute I had to post them.
"So how do you steer a camel?" Not quite a TN Walker!!

Sure missed Colton!

OUR SYMPATHY

All of us extend our deepest sympathy to the Edward's Family in the loss of Wayne. I know this has been a difficult time for all of you. The memorial service was so moving. It was so fortunate that his poems were found and that his thoughts could be shared with family and friends. Quite a talented ole AR boy! It was obvious that he touched many lives in his time on earth. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you adjust to life without him.
Our love,
Mike, Linda, Kaylyn & Family & Kara & Family

BLACK + BLACK = RED???!

We had our first calf September 19th. We noticed that our #1 cow (we #'d them since they are all black) was a bit thinner than the day before so Mike and I set out in the golf cart to see if we could find a calf. Kenneth's comment as we were leaving the house was, "At least you know you're looking for something black!" Well, not so! We went up on the hillside in the back pasture and watched the mom go get the baby out of the waist-tall grass. It was RED. As it turns out, the mom was out of the only red Saler cow the guy had that we bought heifers from. The calf is so cute! A little girl! We have since had a little bull calf (black) and last night we had another black one. For those of you (you know who you are!) that were a bit skeptical about me having cows...so far so good! I haven't had to pull one yet! Ha! It ain't happenin'! And, I'm getting pretty good at predicting who will have a calf next.

WAYLON AND WILLIE FINALLY ARRIVE!

After several delays, Waylon and Willie have made it to SGF! They are the cutest things! When Mike picked them up in Texas, they escaped as he tried loading them into the trailer. He and the other guy chased them for about 45 minutes in the early morning dew before catching them. They aren't too comfortable with humans so we are working with them awhile before putting them out with the cows. You should hear them bray! (Isn't that what they do??) It echoes all through the valley! Hopefully they will annoy my hateful neighbor!

AHH! A CAT'S LIFE!

Mike and I have decided we will never finish all the work to be done! I think I would like to be the cat!

WE'RE STUCK!

Here is where we are on the house after FIVE months! Mike and I got a little "forceful" with the framers and they quit before installing the siding. We just expected them to show up when they were supposed to. Now we have no one to install the siding and things are at a standstill. Anyone looking for work??!

SO MUCH FOR SAFETY GATES!

Didn't take Kade long to figure out how to escape. We've had several breeches in security! His first stop is the dog's kennel and then off to the stairs. I think the shirt says it all! ("Nothin' But Trouble")
