CHRISTMAS 2007

*The Annual Cookie Bake* Our precious grandchildren!!
We didn't have a white Christmas but the following day we had snow. It didn't stick at our house but surrounding towns had some accumulation. Nevertheless, the huge flakes were beautiful coming down! It started as Kaylyn and family were heading back to Texas so they got to see it snow. It was wonderful to have all of our family together (including Cassidy's new puppy, Lola).

IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY!

KAYLYN & KARA
I worked so hard making these dresses and managed to get
them not to fight long enough to take their picture
at church on Christmas morning.
Miracles do happen!
May you have a Christmas miracle!

NEW SNAKE

Well, PawPaw and Colton went shopping and this is what they came up with. . .a Tangerine Honduran Milk Snake. Colton chose her because she is a little more active than the Python and doesn't get as big. Unfortunately, she doesn't like to be squeezed too hard. She took a bite out of Colton the first weekend. I guess it was pretty cool to go to school on Monday and tell the kids he'd been bitten by a snake!! (All the more reason for Gram not to spend the night with Colton!!) I'm still having a hard time believing Kaylyn can handle all these reptiles! Go figure!

WAITING FOR SANTA!

"Hmm! Ya think this one's for me??"
You may remember...last Christmas, Rowdy starting having cluster seizures and we had to rush him to Little Rock to an animal neurologist. He was diagnosed with Distemper and they gave him only months to live. We (especially me) were devastated! Well, here he is a year later and still my best bud! I can't imagine life without him and I hope he's around for many more Christmases!

REDNECK BABY??

Think he's ready to go after those deer??

Sometimes you just have to smile and keep on going!

"ROMEO"

This is MIKE'S new bull! He's a young, registered Black Angus. Though we don't know much about cattle, we're giving it a try. I wish I had paid closer attention to a "Texas cowboy" I worked for when I had a chance!! Ha! If it doesn't go well, we'll have plenty of hamburger!

Colton's Reptile Farm

Colton is really into reptiles. This is one of his chameleons.

This is a picture of his Python. It died this week so PawPaw is taking him to get a new one next weekend. He wants a bigger one but I'm not sure Mom will go for that. He also has a tarantula we caught here at the barn and a bearded dragon (lizard). Rest assured, Gram will not be spending the night with Colton!!

Sleeping Angel

Isn't it wonderful when they sleep this sound?! Kara and I had a really bad week last week. Kade cried all night and day. We tried everything until we finally figured out that he was HUNGRY! We weren't feeding him enough so we bumped his formula up. We just bumped it up another ounce yesterday. He's a hungry boy! Kenneth and Kara took Kade to "weigh-in" at the hospital this evening. He weighs 9 lbs. 14.7 oz. Guess he was hungry!!

Kade's First Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving dinner was not the best this year. I have a new oven so the pies and the dressing were overcooked and the turkey was just plain gross. We opted not to fry the turkey which was a big mistake! Christmas turkey will be fried!!
Kaylyn and family didn't come to Arkansas. Cassidy was sick so they decided to wait until Christmas holidays when they all will be well, we hope. We missed them!!

First Visitors

Cousin Cassidy is ready to babysit. Too bad she's in Texas!
Kenneth's parents were here for Kade's birth. They seemed to think he was a keeper!
Aunt Kaylyn hasn't forgotten how sweet little boys can be!

Kade Michael

PAWPAW IS REALLY GOOD AT ROCKING!
Kade was welcomed into the world on November 8, 2007. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Not much hair but he's a cutie! Kara did great. She had a c-section. Kenneth actually held up well too!
