READY FOR SURGERY!

"You're gonna do what, Doc?!"
(It always helps to have a good friend, Flossie the Cow.)

FIRST TIME OUT!

In an effort to not throw myself off the mountainside today, I put Kade in the "time-out" chair (aka PawPaw's recliner). He would not stay off the stairs no matter what I did. After pouting for awhile and looking at me with really pitiful, big blue eyes, he snuggled up with Flossie the cow and snored away. He is recovering from having his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. Everything is a crisis! It's been a long week. Looks like an angel doesn't he! (Watch my posts for the picture of him in his little scrubs before surgery! Cutest thing!)

THE MONEY PIT!

We always referred to the house in Fulshear as the "money pit" but we have replaced it with a REAL money pit! I hope someone will come see it if it is ever finished. There should be some major progress on the outside by next Friday. Maybe the painter will be finished so the brick and stone guy can get started. They're blowing in insulation so sheetrock starts next week.

UPDATE

The house is coming along (slowly). It is finally dried in. Some of the subs have threatened each other and the sheriff had to come out while we were in Texas. I will survive this! Maybe. If the house is ever finished and I do survive, there will be a big celebration! We lost one of our calves. He was born when the temp dropped below 30 degrees. I didn't catch it in time. Not a pleasant experience! We have one more to go. Kade's surgery to put tubes in his ears had to be cancelled. He started running fever the night before it was scheduled. He has run a high fever all week. We assumed it was the ear infection but he woke up Saturday with a rash. The doctor said he had a virus as well as the ear infection. The antibiotics are not helping his ear so we are hoping he will be better by Friday to have the surgery. Keep your fingers crossed! He has been so sick for so long with the ears! Watch for the big news and photos coming soon! Kaylyn's childhood dream has come true! She was invited by a friend to attend the Donny and Marie Osmond show. She got to go backstage and meet them both. Talk about excited! Still a kid at heart! By the way...Donny is short and Marie is tiny and acts just like she does when you see her on TV. Ha!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KADE!

Kade celebrated his 1st birthday in Texas. Thanks to Aunt Kaylyn for all the hard work on the cakes! Thanks to Uncle Barry for cooking the burgers and hot dogs. Thanks to all Kade's family that attended. The gifts were great and he is playing with them every day. Oddly, he was not crazy about the icing! Can he be kin to me?!

Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treat! Goldie Locks, Baby Bear and Darth!
Kade was not the least bit afraid of Darth. He figured out the candy thing pretty quick. He took a piece then put a piece from his basket back.
It seems it's never too early to learn to text and Cassidy is definitely the one to teach Kade!
